The Day that is Thurs.

Well, today is Thursday, and a mediocre one at that.

I woke up, did the usual first thing in the morning stuff (i.e. going back to sleep, then waking to a cup of tea). Then, I go and clean my teeth. Whilst stood there, brushing, I think, ‘Oh, we haven’t got college today. Or have we?’. Several texts later, my fears are confirmed. We do indeed have college.

So, we get to Chemistry. We’re making Banana Oil. Great. I hate bananas, and especially the smell. Anyway, lots of practicalness involving the fume cupboard and what not. We have to heat the solution for about an hour. So we set up the heating mantle and get it going. Mine and Luke’s solution starts getting darker, goes kinda orange, then red. ‘Ooh,’ we think, ‘it’s working!’. However, a quick peek round showed that everyone else’s was, well, yellow. And stayed that way. That’s when we notice our heater was twice as hot as it should have been. So we turn it down. And the solution gets darker…and darker and darker. In the end, it came out Purple, and smelling of cough mixture, rather than orangey, yellow and smelling faintly of bananas. Oh dearie me! Well, it seems to be reasonably OK. Liz thinks it’s hilarious and doesn’t know how or what we could’ve done wrong. We’ll just have to wait till tomorrow to see what happens!

Anyways, coming out of Chemistry, I find out Physics has been cancelled. NO MORE LESSONS! Woohoo! So I tootled on home. It was just spitting with rain. nothing to bad, I think. I get on the bus. Scary new bus driver lady. Never seen her before. She’s all curly. Anyway, sit down, and then I smell the most awful smell I have ever…smelt. It was horrendous! I don’t know what it was. I heaved a couple of times, but no-one else seemed to be affected, and I didn’t wanna look weird! So I just sat there subtly holding my nose. I get off the bus and the rain gets a little bit heavier, so that it’s just spitting steadily. Then it gets worse. Much, MUCH worse. It was actually like torrential rain! In the time it took me to get off the bus and walk out of the Park and Ride, it went from a couple of drops to several million buckets. luckily, i rang Rachel and she was at home and drove up to meet me. Didn’t stop me getting soaked though!

And that pretty much bring’s everything up to date. Since getting home, I changed my jeans for some dry ones, had some Spaghetti on Toast (Comfort classic!) and found an envelope for the bunting. Not sure what I’ll do now. I think I might just slob around.

So, that’s all for your second blog. Enjoy!

xx

Hi there Sally! Just had a completely random, spontaneous urge to express in comment form how amazing I think you and your blog are! Huzzah! I especially enjoyed the segments that made me laugh out loud (or ‘lol’ if you will) such as the odour on the public transportation device and the suggestion of you being able to create your own cough syrup.

P.S I was in no way pressured into writing this comment… free will rules, okay!
