Hello? Anybody home?

Okay, okay. So it’s been a while. A long, long while. But I am still here. Just.

So anyway, the exciting event to inspire this blogette…

I planted a tree for Innocent! It’s so cool! You buy a carton, it’s got a code on it, they plant the tree! It’s like saving the world without getting your hands dirty. And…look.

Hmm. Oddness. There’s meant to be a pretty thing saying that I’ve planted a tree and linking you to the site and stuff. But it doesn’t work. Oh dearie. Ho-hum.

AAAAAARGH!

I have actually just heard THE best news EVER in a billion, zillion, trillion years! Argh!

THEY’RE BRINGING BACK WISPAS!

I am sooo unbelievably happy. Cadbury Dairy Milk Bubbly has never done it for me in the same way as a Wispa. And don’t even get me started on Wispa Gold and Wispa Mint! Heaven in a wrapper!

I am overly-excited at this prospect. Perhaps my joining ‘Bring Back Cadbury’s Wispa’ on Facebook has done some good! Oh, I happy. Happy, happy, happy. I’m gonna go get me some when they come out. It says October, but they’re limited edition or something! So EEEK! Must. Buy. Wispas.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

I’m Still Here, I promise!

I know, so the blog kinda lost it a bit over the summer, but I’m back now. And so is the blog. First, I think a quick round-up of the summer:

  1. Failed driving test!
  2. Booked another driving test!
  3. Results (Maths A, Chem B, Psych B, Physics C)
  4. Alton Towers – Ace beyond belief!
  5. Kim’s BBQ – Muchos funos!
  6. Fajitas at Kim’s – Muchos funos againos!
  7. Playscheme – Good. Tiring, but good!
  8. Ilfracombe – Ace
  9. Campipng – Acer!
  10. Erm…

I think that’s about it. I’ve had an ace summer, just wish there’d been more of it, I was soo busy. But never mind, I enjoyed it and that’s the main thing. Back at college is good, but there’s soo many first years! And they’re so annoying! Ah well. We we’re probably just as bad.

Okay. About 10 minutes ago, I managed to knock a whole pint of water over every college, school and exam certificate I own. Really not a great move. I’ve managed to save them though, luckily the folder bore the brunt of it. I was gonna drink the water, but it tasted really chloriney, so I didn’t.

I’m also greatly confused on the university front. I don’t know what to do. I thought I’d decided on Education, but now I’m thinking Maths, and now Fiona (the Prat) has said I should apply for Oxbridge and I really don’t know what to do! It’s all so confusing and there’s so much to choose from that I just don’t know where to start. And now my belly’s itching which is just fanbloodytastic… GRARGH!

Eek. Didn’t mean to roar. Hmm. S’pose it wouldn’t be a bad idea to go to bed. ‘Specially as I’m exceedingly tired. Hmm. Sounds a good idea. Night all xx

Harry Potter.

Firstly,

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS.

Okie doke. So. Eagerly awaited. Didn’t quite make it to midnight opening due to said tonsillitis, but sent my Mum the next day.

So, anyway. What did I think? On the wholeness, I like. A lot. A few picky points, but pretty good.

Okay, picky points:

  1. All seemed to pass by very quick. I don’t like the, ‘they travelled like this for weeks and months’. Tell me about it! I don’t like it when it skips such long periods.
  2. The last chapter. Seems a bit of a marmite situation. ‘Cept I’m in the middle. I love the idea of it, I think it needed it and I think it finished it off nicely. However! It all felt a bit rushed, too many names and too much information in so few pages. I had to keep checking who’s kids were who’s, and they never explained who Victoire was! Okay, so it is fairly obvious that, given that she’s a Weasley cousin, it’s gonna be Fleur’s kid, but still!
  3. Ginny. I just don’t like her. She appeared from nowhere and was suddenly a major character. It didn’t feel right that they were together.

However, I did like the storyline, and it was surprisingly believable. And I was right about Harry being a Horcrux! I did say!

So yeah. That’s what I think. I need to read it again, slower, to get the bits I probably missed! Might start it tonight, actually…

Stuff

Yup. A blog about stuff. And you know what? I feel the need for bullet points!

  • My tonsils are finally back to normal. I still feel a bit low and lazy, but hey! At least I can do stuff now!
  • I’ve read Harry Potter. Liked it lots, bit unsure about the ending. Oh, and I was right about the final Horcrux!
  • I officially haven’t seen anyone since last Friday. That’s…12 days. Yes. Nearly a fortnight.
  • Driving test is looming. And I keep doing stuff wrong. Oh hell.
  • Phone line is back after being cut off since thursday. I was quite glad it went off. Meant we didn’t get calls from people with dodgy electrics asking about call-out prices and labour charges. I don’t bloody know!
  • Also internet is back. For now. I don’t think it’s particuarly flood-related. More lot’s-of-BT-men-fiddling-with-wires-on-the-main-road-related.
  • Made it back to civilisation today. And finally saw the floods for myself.
  • Bought some pretty flip-flops today. Well, they’re more sandally, but they’re like flip-flops.

And that’s all I can think of really. I might do a Harry Potter blog at some point. I really wasn’t convinced with that ending. A bit too apple pie for me…

Not the best week of my life.

Well. The title says it all, really. I’ve had a pretty crap week.

It all started last Friday, when, after our night out, I felt a bit scuzzy. As I told Katy and Emily. In fact, I may have said ‘I feel like a scuzz-bomb. I’ll explode in a minute, and there’ll just be brown, furry liquid everywhere’. Yes. Scuzz is a brown, furry liquid.

So anyway, Friday night, helping at club as per usual. Bit of a crap night, dodgy music and annoyingly pathetic little kids, including a girl who looked about 6, was about 3ft tall and seemed to think I would be scared of her. I went to Elgar, for god’s sake! Anyway, end of the night, bit of a headache. Nothing odd in that really, but it had that feeling of a headache that’s gonna get a whole lot worse. And boy, did it get worse!

Saturday morning, up for work as usual. Sore throat. Oh, great, me thinks, for the next day I was going to Cornwall with my dearest friend Kim. So, I go to work, throat sore. And then, all morning, I just get colder and colder and colder. Like, to the point of shivering. I mentioned it to someone else, they’re not cold. Everyone is apparently quite warm and toasty, whereas I am dithering, and helpfully wearing shorts and flip-flops. So, I go to lunch, desperately buy some straighteners (because mine are at Chelsea’s, and I needed some for Cornwall). I’m curled up in the chair, with my coat on top of me, Laura cheering me up. But I went back down and the coldness came back…twice as bad. I borrowed a cardi, but it didn’t help, so, I think it was about an hour later, I came home. After the obligitory ten minute wait for Dad to pick me up, the one where he appears just as you’re getting the phone out to marvel at the fact it’s taken him 10 minutes longer than it would’ve taken anyone else, and start to ring home to check he’s actually left. But, anyway. I came home.

And I went to bed. Absolutely shivering. Mum woke me up about 6. I went back to sleep. I basically slept all day. But not the nice, warm kind of sleep. The nasty, ill, nightmarish, half-awake sort of sleep. I think I did get up about 9pm. I’m not sure. I can’t remember. I pretty much slept through Sunday, despite my Mum’s attempts to send me to Cornwall. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. I could barely sit-up, let alone think about going on holiday. So that was bum.

Monday, I went to the doctors. Tonsilitis. It was kinda obvious. Most people get a big of a white lump on their tonsil. I had this huge, stonking growth of a thing coming out the side of my throat, and my glands were majorly swollen. So I saw the nice doctor, who gave me some tablets. Now, you can tell I was ill, ‘cos it really didn’t bother me. And I have issues with taking paracetamol, let alone anything else. But, I just didn’t care.

I then pretty much slept until Wednesday, other than the odd toilet-trip, and the occasional foray downstairs to the settee (with blankets and pillows, obviously). Yesterday was boring, but I did almost get dressed. Today, the same. Coming on the computer tonight is the most energetic thing I’ve done since last Saturday. So, yes. I’m bored. And fed up ‘cos I should’ve had a week(ish) in Cornwall with Kim. And I can’t go and get Harry Potter and midnight, as planned. And I’ll never get the chance to do it again. ‘Cos it’s the last bloody book! So…NYARGH! I’m really not too pleased at the moment.

So there we go. Really not the best week of my life.

A Night Out and a Day of Fun

Thursday Night. Me, katy, lottie, Aisha and Wart. As schoolgirls. But not particuarly sexy/slutty schoolgirls, more…schoolboys/weird.  Who were all wearing Converse…

It all started when I went to meet t’others at The Entertainer. And everyone was late and scared me to death. But I did see and chat to Shell, which was nice ‘cos I haven’t seen her for aages! Then we went to Katy’s to get ready, and I was carrying half my wardrobe in my bag ‘cos I’m a bit of a gorm who didn’t know what to wear. I felt a bit odd and was very quiet. I’m not too sure why…

Anyway, had fun watching random music channels Chez Katy, and nicking all her jewellery and stuff. And then we were off. We go to the pub. We sit down. Chat to some people. Then someone comes in, takes one (very small and incomplete) look at me and says ‘You’re Rachel’s little sister’. I have never seen him before in my life and have no idea how he knew who I was! It was scary! So yeah, then we go to Lloyd’s, then somewhere else and…

Oh stuff it I really can’t be bothered to type it all ouit. I might do it properly at some point, but probably not. Don’t get your hopes up. Anyway, it was a proper good night and I really wanna see the pictures! Lol!

Then today (Sunday) I helped at a funday at club and Jess and Zoe from Hollyoaks were there. They were very nice and I got their autographs and stuff. So…yeah. Good day and night.

End of College

Yes. I have indeed finished college for the year. I’m already halfway through my time at college…Eek!

This does really deserve a very long blog about college and the lovely people there but to be honest I just really can’t be arsed. So…meh.

Is this the way to Aberystwyth?

Indeed it is. And it makes me feel sick (literally, travel sick).

But anyway, today I went to Aber Uni Open Day. And it was good. I really liked it. Possibly a bit more than Birmingham. And it’s by the sea! It was really cool, and I liked the halls, and the campus and the town and…ARGH! I just loved it. And it’s Welsh! Hoozah! (Because I do love the Welsh!) And it means I can learn to speak Welsh…double Hoozah-ness!

It was a bit cold and windy (though it didn’t rain) but it was still really cool! I can’t really explain why I like it, but I think that’s a good thing, ‘cos that means it kind of…feels right. I know that sounds odd and weird, because it is odd and weird, but it makes sense to me.

But yes, we walked all along the sea front and then had fish and chips (well, I had chicken and mushroom pie and chips, but it still counts) and wandered round some shops. I learnt how to pronounce the double L (tongue on roof of mouth near teeth, make tongue movement like an L whilst voicelessly breathing out) and bought a book.

Oh. One thing. We lost signal to Radio 1 on the way (it was Jo Whiley, I wasn’t that bothered), so we turned to the next available station. Radio 2. How can people complain about how Chris Moyles and Radio 1 are degrading society and whatnot when they listen to Radio 2? It is a million times worse. In the 10 minutes we had it on, they discussed a dead camel being found by the roadside in Sweden, how ‘these days that start with a T are easily confusible (the presenter said Thursday when it’s Tuesday) and how one man had phoned in to say hsi wife blamed them for making her fat because they played a song about a grill and it made her hungry. How is that good and sensible and intelligent? HOW?!

Grr. Anyway , summary for today:

Aber Uni = Love

Radio 2 = Hate
